Six Bold Moves for the New Year

You can’t keep doing the same thing over and over expect a different outcome.  That my friends is insanity.

If you want this year to be better than last year you need to make some changes.  Some big bold changes.  I have six for you to consider implementing today.  Don’t do all six at once, but implement one at a time.

Implement Facebook Marketing

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this is my number one recommendation.  I have done all sorts of marketing over the years from screenings, lunch and learns, to door hangers.  Facebook marketing has been the easiest and most cost-effective way to get new patients into my office to date.

Radically Transform Your Thought Life

You are your biggest enemy.  That inner dialogue between your ears will determine your future.  Thoughts inspire actions.  Actions form habits, and habits determine success.  How do you change your thought life?

Put good things into your head.  Garbage in, garbage out doesn’t just apply to our physical bodies, it also applies to our minds.  So turn off the talk radio and news channels.  Listen to good podcasts.  Read good books.  Choose your friends carefully.  Hang out with eagles instead of chickens.

Fire your Staff

There are many reasons that your staff may need to move on.  If you have trained and coached them properly do what’s right for you and them and let them go.  Fire fast and hire slow.  If you have good staff focus on building them up.  If not let them go.  If you need to find good staff read this article here.

Meet Two New People Each Day

People do business with people the know like and trust.  If you want to increase your chances of people choosing you for their chiropractic needs you need to meet new people.

Join networking groups, gyms, or the chamber.  A more bold move would be to talk to people while you are waiting in line at the store.  Strike up a conversation with the owner of the local coffee shop.  Make the conversation about THEM.  Get their business card and keep track of who you meet and details about them in a spreadsheet or Evernote.  Then follow up, again making it about THEM.  Adding value to their life.  The fortune is in the follow-up.

Rethink Your Business Model

I feel that a lot of chiropractors don’t keep the main thing the main thing.  Are you focusing too much on orthotics because the slick rep from FL convinced you it was the key to success?  Do you shun patients that mention symptoms because a “guru” told you to?  Do you have systems in place to run a clinic smoothly?  Are the systems working?  Are you seeing a lot of referrals?  These all questions that you should be asking to dissect your business at least once a year.  What’s working?  What needs to fixed?  What’s missing?  What needs to be cut?  What needs to be amplified?

Find a Business Mentor

We all need someone who is further along the journey to success than us to help guide us.  I have been blessed to have several mentors in my life.  I have both business and personal mentors.  The one thing they have in common is they have found their own success in life and are willing to help me and invest in me.  You can’t do this alone.  For years we invested in a coach.  Paying for a coach can be a very bold move too.

Which bold move are you going to do first?  What would you add to the list?
